This page describes what Artificial Intelligence University (AIU, certificationcenter.ai) collects, why, and how you can control it. We try to collect the minimum needed to run the service.

What we collect

  • Account info: your email address, and a display name if you choose to set one.
  • Exam activity: which exams you take, your answers, and your scores, so we can grade exams and issue certificates.
  • Certificates: once issued, a certificate's score and issue date are permanent and cannot be edited, by design - this is what makes a certificate trustworthy to a third party who verifies it.
  • Consent choices: we log every opt-in and opt-out you make (directory listing, marketing emails, age attestation) with a timestamp, so we have a record of what you agreed to and when.
  • Messages sent through the site: if someone contacts you through your certificate page, we relay their message to your email without ever showing them your actual address.

What we never do

  • We never display your raw email address on any public page. Certificates and the public directory show your display name or student number only.
  • We never list you in the public directory, or show more than an anonymous score on the leaderboard, unless you've explicitly opted in.
  • We don't sell your data to anyone.

Email

We send you email for two reasons: transactional messages you can't opt out of (certificate delivery, account-related notices), and occasional product updates, which you can opt out of at signup or any time from your account page. We use a third-party email delivery service to send these; they process your email address solely to deliver the message, not for their own marketing.

Sign-in

You can sign in with Google or by email. If you use Google sign-in, we receive your email address from Google to create your account - we don't receive your Google password or access anything else in your Google account.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to run exam sessions - these aren't optional, since the site can't function without them. We also show ads on most pages and during exams to keep certification free - this applies to every free account and isn't optional either. The one choice you do have is whether those ads are personalized using tracking cookies; you can change that anytime from your account page.

Error monitoring

We use a third-party error-tracking service to catch bugs when something breaks. It receives technical details about the error (what page, what went wrong) but we've configured it not to collect personal information by default.

Your choices

  • Change your display name, or your public directory and marketing email preferences, any time from your account page.
  • Make any individual certificate private or public from your certificates page.
  • Contact us at [email protected] with any question or request about your data.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we'll answer directly.
