WHAT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) IS AND IS NOT

Part 7 of 10

PRACTICE LAB CONNECTION Your hands-on project, the Resume Review Agent, is a small example of narrow AI arranged as an agent. When you build it later, you will see a model that reads resumes, tools that open files, and a loop that continues until every resume has been reviewed. For now, use this chapter's prompts to practice scoping. Ask yourself which parts of the Resume Review Agent truly need a language model and which parts are plain deterministic code. Deterministic code is code that always gives the same output for the same input. For instance, counting how many resumes are in a folder is deterministic and should never be given to a model. Judging how well a person's experience matches a job posting is a fuzzy judgment, and that is where the model earns its place. Keep that division in mind as you read on.
