WHY OBSERVABILITY MATTERS
Part 2 of 10
TURNING FAILURES INTO TARGETED IMPROVEMENTS
Observability data lets you find the real cause, and the real cause decides the right fix.
Suppose an agent keeps quoting an old price.
Without data, a team might spend weeks rewriting the prompt or switching models.
With data, they may see that a tool returned a stale cached value, so the fix is to refresh the cache.
Data also shows patterns.
If thirty percent of failed runs share the same tool error, fixing that one tool gives a large improvement.
And two complaints that look unrelated may be traced to one shared cause in minutes.
Each fixed failure can then become a new test, as you will see in Chapter 32, so the same failure does not return.
