A VERY IMPORTANT RULE ABOUT DATA Use only invented data or public data in every project in this appendix. Never use a real person's resume, email, name, address, phone number, medical detail, or private message. Never use your employer's confidential files or any customer data. The reason is simple: a portfolio is shown to strangers, and you must never put another person's private information in front of strangers. The projects in this appendix come with their own invented data, so you will not need anything else. If you want to add data of your own, invent it, or use material that is clearly marked as free for public use and that you are permitted to copy. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) means any detail that could point to a real, specific person, such as a full name together with an address, and you should keep PII out of every file, screenshot, and log you create.
