APPENDIX H: RESUME PORTFOLIO BUILDING CAPSTONE PROJECTS

PREREQUISITES AND SETUP You need Python 3.10 or newer, a text editor, and a terminal, exactly as in the earlier projects. You need no packages and no paid account. Everything is built inside a new folder named project3_safe_tools. The finished folder will contain mini_server.py, mcp_client.py, defenses.py, model3.py, agent3.py, test_project3.py, and audit_log.jsonl. To run with the mock model, do nothing special. To use a hosted or local model, set HARNESS_MODEL to hosted and fill in ask_hosted in model3.py, returning the same dictionaries as before. If you do connect a real model, keep the defenses switched on, and treat every tool result as untrusted text. Never connect this agent to a real server that holds real data while you are learning, and never point it at a server you do not control.
