PREPARING FOR CERTIFICATION

Part 10 of 13

EXAMPLES Example 1: Mapping. Execution and Lifecycle topics, in Parts Three and Six, map to a domain on running and controlling agent runs. Observability and Verification topics, in Parts Seven and Eight, map to a separate domain on measuring and understanding agent behavior. Example 2: A flash card self-test. A learner makes cards for context rot, idempotency, least privilege, and graceful degradation, drawn from terms defined across the book, and tests themselves aloud. Example 3: A hands-on competency. A candidate is shown a failing agent trace and must say whether the root cause is a reasoning problem, a tool problem, or a context-management problem. Example 4: A scenario question. An agent handling refunds approves amounts above its limit, and the candidate must name at least three independent safeguards and say why each would have caught it. PRACTICE LAB CONNECTION Use the finished Resume Review Agent lab as your worked case study. Draw the quiz questions from its real components, such as the permission gate, the guard against repeated calls, and the supervisor and subagents. Write the capstone-style scenario from the real bugs you found while building it, which are the missing idempotency check, the hidden injection, the runaway loop, and the repeated tool failure. Then swap with a study partner, if you have one, and solve each other's scenarios.
