APPENDIX G: LAB SETUP GUIDE
Part 7 of 7
RESETTING THE LAB
Several chapters deliberately plant a bug and then ask you to fix it.
These are the injection case in Chapter 67, the runaway loop in Chapter 68, and the repeated failure case in Chapter 69.
Keep the lab under version control and make a save at the end of every stage.
That lets you return to the earlier state to practice finding a bug, and compare it with a working fix afterward.
A tidy habit is to give each stage its own label, so you can jump to it by name.
SAFETY REMINDERS FOR THE LAB
Run any code the agent writes only inside your sandbox.
Keep file access limited to the resumes and reports folders.
Never place a real key or real personal data in the sample data.
Treat every resume, even a fictional one, as untrusted content, because that is exactly what the lab teaches you to do.
When you finish, run the checklists in Appendix D and the evaluation templates in Appendix E on your own finished lab.
