APPENDIX H: RESUME PORTFOLIO BUILDING CAPSTONE PROJECTS

Part 7 of 56

PROJECT OVERVIEW Imagine a helpful assistant who sits at a desk with a small stack of notes in an in-tray and an out-tray beside it. The assistant may look through the in-tray and may place finished papers in the out-tray, and the assistant is not allowed to wander anywhere else in the building. That is Project 1. You will build a tiny harness that lets an agent list the notes in a folder called workspace, read them one at a time, and write a short summary into a folder called output. You will add a permission gate, which is a checkpoint that refuses any request to read outside workspace or write outside output. You will add a step limit so that the loop can never run forever, and you will add a log so that every action is written down. The project relates to Chapter 65 and to the first stage of the Practice Lab, because both build the core think, act, and observe loop. It is different from the lab because the subject is a folder of short invented notes about gardening instead of resumes, the code is smaller, and the mock model is written to try one sneaky request so that you can watch the gate refuse it. Use only the invented notes in this project or other invented text, and never put a real person's private information into the workspace folder.
